Kaitlyn Jo Smith: Candle Holder

By burning my candle sideways, I've shortened its lifespan to 20min.  Unexpectedly the way the flame tunneled through the candle was a wonderful discovery.  I hope to make a video of this burning process in the near future.

I struggled a lot on figuring out how to finalize this piece.  Once it was cut in half there seemed to be infinite options for display.

I wanted to make a sculpture that allowed me to play with light and shadows.  The sculpture was to exist more as a base for the flame.
